Rock in Rio 2011: More of the same on Brazilian Identity?

Yes, we have samba. Yes, we have axé. We can dance sensually and our women have hot bodies. Is it the only thing we will show the world whenever we have the chance to? by Ana Doll

  1. I agree with you Ana, the Brazilians are beautiful and they just show this when they have the chance, what about show the world everything else we have? They all don't have interest in show the world our culture... :/

  3. I have to disagree, I am American and that point of view never crossed my mind. lol I also think sensuality is part of your culture much like rhythm is in mine. Not everyone can move like that, I think it's something to look on with pride especially when you consider we often try and imitate Brazilians in some of our dances. And another thought, in Africa, our dancing had meanings, not always sexual, sometimes it was dances to the gods to send water for the crops. So in that respect, dances are a part of each countries culture.

BTW, I loved the Rock in Rio concerts, I think Brazil, South America in general, keep rock alive, I commend them for their enthusiam, I looked on in amazement and joy, the crowd's reactions actually heightened my enjoyment.
